Test results

When you take your test, you will be told how long it will take before the results are returned to the practice. To obtain your results, please telephone the surgery on 02476685918. Please be prepared to identify yourself, saying what the test was and when it was carried out.

Reception staff cannot give details of the results over the phone. If the result requires further discussion, we will offer you an appointment. Due to our confidentiality and data protection policies, we will only give results to the person who has had the test.

If you underwent some investigation but you do not contact the surgery to enquire about the results, then a member of staff from the surgery will contact you if a doctor wishes to discuss the results. If the results are normal, then it is more than likely that you will not be contacted.

You may have been asked by the Doctor to have blood tests, urine tests or stool tests.

To get these results, please allow about one week, then you may either:

  • Call into surgery and ask the Receptionist for your results.
  • Telephone the surgery and ask the Receptionist for your results after 2.00pm.
  • You may request results by email, but you must give your signed consent to personal detail being emailed to you prior to the request as we cannot guarantee the security of this information.
  • Remember some tests take longer than others, so it may be that not all results are back at the same time.
